  • In to Unknown Milage Territory

Today I did a 14+ mile run with the Indy Runners group.  That was hard! Last week, I felt like I wasn’t able to drink as much as I wanted to.  I was limited to just the various water stops on the Monon, and the two that the Indy Runners put up.  So, I bought…

  • I think I’ll make the Carmel Half Marathon after all!

I really didn’t recover good after the Mini three weeks ago.  My legs were tired, then I started having some stomach pains, and hip pains, and I really wasn’t running that much. But I went out on Saturday to the Monon Greenway and was able to make it 9.4 miles.  That’s the longest I’ve done…

  • Saturday’s 9 miler

On Saturday, and, yes, I know I’m bad about updating, I got myself out the door and managed to run 9 miles.  It was about 40 degrees when I walked out the door, but being in shorts and a “thermal” running shirt kept me pretty comfortable for the run.  I actually felt a little warm…

  • Some dry heaving while running

Holy cow, it was HUMID this morning.  Around 85%.  I did some coughing during the first 10 minutes of my seven mile run and it felt more like dry heaving than coughing.  Felt like I could barely move for the whole time, and my mile splits proved it!  My big body just doesn’t like running…

  • Cool 10 Mile Run

Nice and cool 10 mile run this morning.  Temps were in the mid 60’s.  My Nathan Race Vest hydration pack thingie seems to be working out quite well.  Every mile or so I’ll walk about 10 yards and take a drink.  It’s helping me stay hydrated the entire time and not getting worn out.  There…

    July 31 2010 Long Run

So this afternoon was my first “official” long run of my marathon training.  I’ve laid out a calendar using Hal Higdon’s Novice 1 program.  I counted backwards from November 6th, so today was the 9 mile run. It actually wasn’t that bad.  I was fortunate in that the temp was right below 70 degrees when…

  • Hot morning run

It was about 78 degress with a 73 dew point this morning when I headed out for my 6.47 miles run.  1:00:20 later, and it’s 81with a 75 dewpoint, making it feel like 88 with 80% humidity.  Yes, miserable! The good news? My legs weren’t in pain!
