I went to the Walk-In Clinic at OrthoIndy today for my foot pain. I was barely able to run 4 minutes Thursday night and I had some pain just walking around.
The doc did an X-Ray and didn’t really see anything. That’s good and bad, I guess. Good because it means I don’t have a stress fracture (that shows up yet..) or some other sort of serious issue. But it’s bad because he really can’t pinpoint what the pain is. The recommendation is to rest for about 10 days and then ease back in to it. At least he didn’t mention the word tendinitis.
So what’s that mean? Um. It puts a REAL cramp in to my training plans! I don’t want to throw in the towel just yet, but I’ve started to reach for it. We’ll see how my foot responds to rest.
The service at OrthoIndy’s Walk-In Clinic was top notch! From the time I left my car to the time I got back to it, it was under an hour. I had taken a half day off work because I expected to wait for an hour or more before being seen! The Doc did say runners are crazy, and I guess I took that as a compliment 😉
